Yay, C & O had a mother’s day pop up shop at Anthopologie, Pasadena!! And what can be better than that you ask? Hmmm, how about selling out!!! We took our love for texture and our courage for color to create all this loveliness!!! This event was everything we wanted it to be and more than we could have ever expected!!! Thanks to Tiffany for filling in and helping  us out (we had another event so I couldn’t physically be there ;(, but my spirit was present through my arrangements ;) ). And a big thanks to Evie for lending us her amazing talent and giving us these beautiful pics. Take a peek!!!

So C&O is happy to announce we were featured in the Huffington Post this past weekend. It’s even more special because it’s Elv’s wedding that’s on display. The first wedding we collaborated on in fact. It is still the best wedding I’ve ever been to. The day went too fast and I was sad that such an amazing beautiful night had come to an end. I’m glad we get to revisit the event here in this Vintage 20′s wedding feature. Yay.

We will have floral bouquets for sale and even more floral loveliness, styled in an Anthro vessel, ready to gift to the greatest Mother ever. We’d love to see your smiling faces there…Here’s the details…!!!

First of all, I am always quite smitten when couples share a first initial. Like in some way it’s meant to be (kinda cheesy but super  cute!!!) Well in some ways this is how I feel about  the fact that I was lucky enough to design the flowers for Jovelle and Josh’s magical wedding day. Since I went to high school with Jovelle, it was fun to reconnect and share all the great things that have happened to us throughout the years. Thankfully,  from our first consultation I understood her vision and knew it was something right up our alley. I LOVED her venue the Corondolet House. I knew from the get go I wanted to use mercury glass to add some glam and sparkle. A million stars baby’s breath was used throughout the venue and I adored the way it echoed the texture of her “to die for” dress. The bride and groom’s chairs were adorned with a garland of lemon leaf. Wooden boxes were filled with deep plum peonies, white garden roses, and heather grey dusty miller, and set up along the long dinner tables. Mini rosemary trees and white kale were also used to create a fresh modern vibe. A rustic back drop used during the ceremony was made with natural birch branches, and lemon leaf garland. It was  also accented with coordinating floral. Her bouquet was made with bunches of lush white peonies. All in all, the event was quite exquisite. Jovelle and Josh make a beautiful couple…very much in love…they were glowing!!! Cheers to them!!!

Oh and I must mention Jovelle is quite the realtor. Check out here site here. Such dreamy homes!!!

This month has been filled with back to back meetings! Good NEWS is our calendar is quickly filling up and we have some fun events to share with all of you very soon! We also have past weddings we need to post too! Till then, here’s a little recap of one of the many exciting things that recently happened with the C & O!

Our watercolor bouquet!! This bouquet was from our first major photo-shoot! We designed every single piece of this shoot (exception of the desserts and paper goods)! It was a scary place for us at the time…confident with our craft but so new with this part of the industry! We learned some hard knock lessons from this shoot and from this we have become so much stronger!  The photo shoot received such amazing press and really set the tone to our brand! A time we’ll never forget! And to make things even more major…. the blog who published it, 100 Layer Cake, used our bouquet as part of their advertisement on their front page. SO every time you head to the front page of this fabulous blog…you get to see a part of us. Pretty major in our book…..

Very very happy that Yahoo recognized our eye for design and included us, Charlie & Olivia, in their worldwide SPRING wedding post. This particular bow tie was hand made, hand dyed, and personally created by us. Cheers to C&O and Yahoo!!!

Taking care of my 4 week son Mateo and wedding season fast approaching…this week flew by! I planned to post a recent wedding we worked on but with all that’s going on (all good stuff)…I have to postpone the post for another week or so. However, I thought it would nice to end the week with bright and bold inspiration!

This photo was taken in Mexico City at an outdoor market called Bazar Del Sabado. This outdoor and indoor market is an artsy and colorful place where the local artists sell handcrafted goods. The huge floral arrangement was displayed in a fountain in the middle of a courtyard. It was filled with bright hues of flowers and fruit. It made a huge artful statement and was one of many inspirations on my trip! With the beginning of spring, I thought this could inspire you too!  Inspire to be bright and bold!

Stay tuned for for the full feature and for all the fun stuff we’ve been up to!!! Cheers!

We were very excited and happy when we found out Style Me Pretty was featuring our photo shoot. We had a blast creating all the different elements that went into this photo shoot. Our inspiration for this shoot was fashion meets natural urban oasis. We wanted the backdrop for this wedding to be organic and raw and to also reflect the natural beauty of our quaint little neighborhood of Echo Park within the Los Angeles. Between us existed a definite desire to have all of the various elements appear seamlessly woven, even though each individual element was strong in its own right. We wanted the event to feel textural and alive. Wire baskets were used thoughtfully to create a floating element, hung on birch branches above the table.

The brides dress, made available to us through the lovely bride and designed by Sarah Seven, was cleverly infused with tiny wire decals throughout its entirety. In regards to textiles, we thought it would be interesting to use bold patterns that were opposing in design yet very united in style. The chairs, classic in shape, were revamped with a warm color pallet of corals mixed with gold and copper metallics. Floral fashion belts and hairpieces, also made with copper wire, were designed to complement the simple yet textual beauty of the bridesmaid’s dresses and bouquets. A small floral embellishment was also added to the bride’s gown. The escort cards were slipped through a custom made chicken wire frame. The outer frame was embellished with garland and complementary painted table leg finials.

We decided to go bold with our floral choices, choosing to mix sweet pinky romantic blooms with brushy earthy stems infused with a natural raw edginess. Sweet and Saucy designed a divine abstract cake inspired by the table top textile pattern. The idea to display the cake so geniusly, came from the talented Sara, of onelove photography. Sara has extraordinary vision and a to die for approach to photography. She was the ideal conductor for our creative vision as a whole. Jen, of Prim and Pixie, created all the paper goods that echoed the very pulse of this couple, fresh and luxe. All in all, we strived to create a modern and classic wedding adorned with layers of cool style.

Hair and make up for the shoot was expertly executed by the lovely Chelsey B. They looked stunning!!!
