A Snowy Boston City Hall Elopement - Boston Elopement + Wedding Photographer
It was December 20th and I woke up excited to capture Chloe & Derek’s elopement later that day. As I groggily walked into the kitchen, my husband said, “Look! It’s snowing!” Sure enough, there was a light blanket of snow beginning to form on the ground.
By the afternoon, it felt as if Boston was a snowglobe…it was pure magic.
We started with Chloe and Derek’s ceremony at City Hall, surrounded by their closest family members. As the couple checked in and added the final touches to their outfits, the joy among their family was tangible.
The ceremony was so special - their loved ones clapped and cheered as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife ❤️
After the ceremony, we took a car for family portraits in front of the Boston Public Library. It was actively snowing and everyone huddled close together to stay warm during the photos.
Finally, we spent time taking Chloe and Derek’s portraits in front of the Boston Public Library, Commonwealth Ave, and at the Newbury Hotel on Arlington St. They were such good sports given the fact that there was nearly 5 inches of snow on the ground and Chloe was in heels! It was so fun to take a mix of photos with and without flash - the flash really made the snow shine!
From the unanticipated snow to all of their special details, Chloe & Derek’s elopement was absolutely perfect. I feel so lucky that they chose me to capture such a special day and I know they will have a lifetime of love, happiness, and fun together. ❤️
The above photos are a mix of digital and 35mm film.
