Portraits at the Boston Athenaeum and Back Bay
I first stumbled upon the Boston Athenaeum a few months ago and immediately fell in love. The books, the paintings, the winding staircases…it really is just a whole vibe!
And so I was super excited when Addison reached out and said she was interested in doing a session at this magical library!
When people hire me to take their photos, I have them answer my signature questionnaire. I have different questionnaires based on the type of session, but the general process is the same.
Coming from a background in sociology and research, I combine both analytics and artistry to make a personalized mood board for each photo shoot. The mood boards (yes, two!) that I made for Addison’s session are some of my favorite ones I’ve done so far.
In general, I only create one mood board per session. HOWEVER, when I was analyzing the data from Addison’s answers, I just knew there were two distinct mood boards hidden within her responses.
And so…I made two! After our light academia shoot at the Athenaeum, we headed over to Back Bay for a vintage Vogue inspired session.
What made this part of the session so special is that Addison wore a quilted coat that once belonged to her grandmother ** insert tears here. **
We had the best time! It was so fun getting to capture both sides of Addison’s personality.
And don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter to see my mood boards…I generally will only share these with those on my email list. Here’s what Addison had to say about the questionnaire and mood board process:
